We have two salmon seasons in Oregon, the spring run, and the fall run.

The Spring Salmon run begins in April on the Willamette River near Portland. I will fish here until the fish begin to migrate upstream, usually the beginning of May, then I will follow them to their tributaries, the Santiam, (near Salem) McKenzie, and Middle Fork Willamette Rivers (near Eugene). I will fish for spring Salmon here through June. Peak time for spring Salmon is April-Mid June. Spring Salmon average 15-25 pounds.

The Fall Salmon run begins in Mid August but is very reliable in September and October. I fish the Fall run in the tidal portion of the Siuslaw River, near the coastal town of Florence. These fish are still in tidewater and are as fresh as they will ever be. This fishery holds up through October. Peak time for fall Salmon here is September- mid October. Fall Salmon average 20-30 pounds with many going over 40.
